Prof. Ali Ilker Filiz graduated from Gulhane Military Medical Academy (GMMA), Ankara in 1996. He completed his general surgery residency at GMMA, Haydarpaşa Teaching and Research Hospital, Department of General Surgery, Istanbul in 2003. Having completed his mandatory service, he was assigned as assistant professor at GMMA Haydarpaşa Teaching and Research Hospital, Department of General Surgery in 2004. Between 2009-2010, he worked at the Breast and Endocrine Surgery Clinic of Haukeland University School of Medicine in Bergen, Norway. He received Associate Professorship in 2011 and the degree for Surgical Oncology in 2013. He received advanced training on oncoplastic breast surgery at the European Academy of Senology, Dusseldorf, Germany in 2014. He is currently working at Okan University School of Medicine, Istanbul as professor of surgery and surgical oncology since 2016. Prof. Filiz is an active member of Turkish Society of Surgery, Turkish Society of Breast Surgery, Istanbul Surgical Society and Turkish Society of Endocrine Surgery.
