Prof. Sibel Özkan Gürdal graduated from Istanbul University, Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine in 1998. She had his general surgery residency training at Taksim Training Hospital between 1999-2005. Dr. Özkan Gürdal had broad experience on surgical oncology during her residency at MD Anderson Cancer Center, USA. She worked in a private hospital in İstanbul until 2008. She was assigned as assistant professor at Department of General Surgery at Tekirdağ Namık Kemal University School of Medicine in 2008. She  worked also at Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, Breast Surgery Unit in 2008-2009 as a fellow. He received advanced training on oncoplastic surgery at Euroepan Academy of Senology (EAoS), Dusseldorf, Germany in 2012. She is currently working at Tekirdağ Namık Kemal University as associate professor of surgery. She is the director of  Breast & Endocrine Surgery Unit at Tekirdağ Namık Kemal University Hospital. Dr. Özkan Gürdal is the president of Tekirdağ  Breast Disease Society. Dr. Özkan Gürdal is a member of Turkish Society of Surgery and European-Asian Society for Breast Diseases (EURAMA). She is the  general secretary of Turkish Federation of National Breast Societies. She is also one of executive commitee members of Breast Health Society (MEMEDER). She has many book chapters and articles about breast cancer and its management.
