Due to the COVID-19 outbreak related interruptions at its regular in-person educational meetings, SENATURK started to organize regular webinars about breast cancer management in May 2020 under the name “CONNECT SENATURK”.

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak related interruptions at its regular in-person educational meetings, SENATURK started to organize regular webinars about breast cancer management in May 2020 under the name “CONNECT SENATURK”.


On 16 May 2020, Prof. Andreas Karakatsanis from Sweden and Prof. Sevilay Altintas from Belgium attended the webinar about “Ductal Carcinoma In Situ” as the guest speakers.


On 30 May 2020, Prof. Sarkis Meterissian and Prof. Jean-Francois Boileau from Canada attended the webinar about “Surgery after Neoadjuvant Systemic Treatment” as the guest speakers.


On 13 June 2020, Prof. Murray Brunt was the guest speaker at the webinar about his recent “Fast Forward Radiotherapy" trial. Also Prof. Philip Poortmans from Belgium joined the discussion as the co-moderator of the webinar.


From June 2020, SENATURK started to organize joint webinars with several global and regional societies under the name “SENATURK MEETS” as listed below:


20 June 2020; “How to overcome challenges in breast surgery: Global collaboration matters” with Breast Surgery International (BSI). The guest faculty was consisted of Prof. Owen Ung, Prof. Gaurav Agarwal, Prof. SVS Deo, Prof. Kerstin Sandelin, Prof. Shawna Willey, Prof. Sarkis Meterissian, Prof. Omar Youssef, Mr. Sankaran Narayanan and Miss Eugenia Ip.


18 July 2020; “Breast surgery in the elderly” webinar with American Society of Breast Surgeons (ASBrS). The guest faculty was consisted of Prof. Shawna Willey, Dr. Jill Dietz, Dr. Susan Boolbol and Dr. Jane Mendez.


8 August 2020; “Chest wall perforator flaps” webinar with University Hospitals of North Midlands, UK. The guest faculty was consisted of Mr. Sankaran Narayanan, Mr. Soni Soumian, Mr. Sekhar Marla, Mr. Rishikesh Parameshwar, Mr. John Murphy, Ms. Geeta Shetty and Ms. Sadaf Jafferboy.


3 October 2020: “Shared decision-making in loco-regional breast cancer management” webinar with Group for Reconstructive and Therapeutic Advancements (G.Re.T.A.). The guest faculty was consisted of Prof. Glyn Elwyn, Prof. Marie-Anne Durand, Prof. Giuseppe Catanuto, Dr. Nicola Rocco and Dr. Victoria Teoh.


10 October 2020: “Critical-thinking for oncoplastic breast surgeons” webinar with Oncoplastic Academy of Brazil (OA). The guest faculty was consisted of Prof. Regis Resende Paulinelli, Prof. Cicero Urban and Prof. Mauricio Resende.
